Monthly Favorites — January ’16

Hey cuties, I’ve missed you dearly.

The first month of the year has come to a close, and with that, comes the first round of favorites for 2016! A.k.a I will be sharing a few of my favorite possessions with you all for each month of the year in hopes that these will become some of your favorite things as well.

Fiiiiirst up is my favorite coffee cup! This is a reusable, barista-standard cup, from KeepCup. It’s so simple yet so unique. The cork band is my favorite detail, which really sets it apart from any other cups I’ve seen.

Next on the list is this soy candle (which burns cleaner and lasts longer than your average wax candle) from Anthropologie. Now, this is something I have literally taken a sniff of every. single. time. I walk in that store. The iridescent jar and copper lid are what originally caught my eye, but the smell is seriously unreal. The description on the candle reads : “tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons and limes, redolent with lightly exotic mountain greens

If you’re anything like me, the hunt for a perfect lip balm is really never-ending. So when I find one that I love, I do not take it for granted. These guys are from Jack Black. I actually got a set of 4, but let’s be real, I’ve never even finished a whole chapstick without losing it. The other 2 are lost somewhere in my bags and pants, and these happen to be my two favorites from the set! Previous to getting “The balm squad”, I started with the Blackberry & Black tea, which I would recommend getting to begin with as well.

All. White. Shoes. Three very scary words when you put them all together, but I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way! They absolutely go with 99% of outfits and these Vans, specifically, have what I would describe as white paint-like texture on the exterior fabric, which makes them much easier to keep clean. Zero exaggeration when I say I wear these almost every day. Slip-ons are my ish, man.

As for what’s inside the shoes, the Mint shoe cleaner can be found at Foot Locker. I checked online for a link, but I think this is an in-store only item. This stuff works like magic and is my best friend when it comes to my collection of Vans and Nikes.

The socks are calf-high length, athletic striped socks from American Apparel. Everyone knows that AA is the place to go for high quality basics, and these socks certainly aren’t an exclusion. I have a trillion pairs and these are a fun way to add color to what you’re wearing.

Last, but certainly not least – this Kånken backpack from Fjällräven in the color “Ox red”. (Unfortunately the color is sold out right now.) This isn’t my first bag from this Swedish brand, and it definitely won’t be my last. It’s the perfect light-weight, classic backpack. One thing most people are unaware of is that this bag has the capability to double as a camera bag! On the site is a photo insert which I will definitely be purchasing as soon as it’s back in stock. Pro-tip: keep the foam insert in the laptop compartment of the bag to help keep it’s shape.

That concludes this month’s favorite things! I’m already excited for what my February favorites will bring. I feel like Oprah. Oh, gosh.

See you again soon, xoxo.
